Blackout -the game- (You can start getting your hopes up more now!)

Posted by trekopep - August 16th, 2007

Blackout -the game- is definitely looking up. My first attempt at a Blackout game was a failure, and I had thought I wouldn't return to it. Then I started making a new Blackout game, and was happy with the results. There were a few problems that almost made me give up on it, but I haven't, and it's looking good.

Blackout the game is not exactly what you would call a "side scrolling game," but it comes close. You start at the left side of the screen, and move over to the right. When you get all the way to the right, you're at the left of a new screen. I know, really original, right? But just because something's not original doesn't mean it isn't good.

So far I have a menu, a short cut scene, and about 6 screens of gameplay. I've made swinging saws, shooting robots, a bottomless pit, and a spike trap. I don't really know how to explain it, but the picture at the bottom of the screen might give you the general idea. Also, I'm still happy to get some graffiti for the walls if anyone wants to give it to me. The link is http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/75 4368.

Also, if anyone was wondering, no, I'm not going to stop making Blackout 2, although at this rate, the game might be done before the animation is. Well, not much else to say. TTYL! ;)
